About Our festival
Presented by WIEN KLASSIK – Association for Friends of Classical Music and the WienKlassik Symphony Orchestra, the 4th Vienna Concerto Festival 2027 will take place at the historic Ehrbar Saal in the heart of Vienna. More than 15 talented musicians from around the world will come together for four days of masterclasses, rehearsals, and public orchestral concerts.
The festival offers emerging musicians a unique opportunity to perform one to whole movements of a concerto with the WienKlassik Symphony Orchestra, featuring approximately 35 professional musicians. The festival welcomes musicians of all ages, with participants selected through a video audition process.

Three intensive rehearsal sessions with a professional symphony orchestra, with a special focus on concerto performance practice.

A public concert performance at the prestigious Ehrbar Saal in Vienna.

A professional recording supervised by an internationally active music producer.

International media exposure, including coverage in prominent European publications such as The European Times, providing valuable international visibility and recognition.
Tuition & Participation Fees
Base Participation Fee: €2,600
The base fee covers the performance of one movement of a Classical or Romantic concerto, with a maximum duration of 12 minutes.
For performances involving multiple movements or exceeding 12 minutes in total, an additional fee of €216 per minute will apply to the duration beyond the 12-minute limit.
The Participation Fee Includes

One individual rehearsal with the conductor, focusing on musical interpretation, tempo, and orchestral coordination.

Two rehearsals with the professional symphony orchestra in preparation for the concert.

One public concerto performance with the orchestra at the historic Ehrbar Saal in Vienna.

Professional live audio and video recording of the concert performance.
Additional fees apply to performance durations exceeding 12 minutes. All repertoire and performance durations are subject to approval by the festival's artistic committee.
Ehrbar Saal – A Historic Concert Venue in Vienna
The Ehrbar Saal, established in 1867 and completed in 1877, is one of Vienna’s most historic and prestigious concert halls, located in the city’s fourth district.
Steeped in musical history, the hall has welcomed some of the most celebrated figures in classical music, including Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Gustav Mahler, Anton Rubinstein, and Arnold Schoenberg. It is particularly renowned for hosting the premieres of Mahler’s Das klagende Lied and the first part of Schoenberg’s Gurre-Lieder.
Today, the Ehrbar Saal continues to attract internationally acclaimed artists, including Sir András Schiff, preserving its distinguished musical heritage while remaining a vibrant center for classical music performance in Vienna.
